Good luck playing Fremantle in Perth this year. Ross Lyon's team will be one tough unit to crack if its 28-point round one derby victory against West Coast is anything to go by.
Fremantle took some time to get going, unable to convert field position dominance into scoreboard success in the first half, but when it raised the stakes in the third quarter West Coast was left floundering at Patersons Stadium.

Zac Clarke has failed to prove his fitness ahead of Saturday’s Carlton Mid Derby at Patersons Stadium, with Kepler Bradley named to assist Jon Griffin in the ruck.
Clarke limped off the track with an injury at training on Tuesday and wasn’t able to come up for the round 1 game.
Young South Australian midfielder Cam Sutcliffe was also named in the 22.
The emergencies for the game will be Jesse Crichton, Lachie Neale and Jack Hannath.
Three-time All Australian ruckman Aaron Sandilands is unavailable after he aggravated his injured left hamstring this week.
In his absence, Jon Griffin will lead Freo’s ruck division against champion West Coast big man Dean Cox.

FREMANTLE midfielder Nat Fyfe has shrugged off a shoulder scare to dominate in Saturday's 109-point NAB Cup win over the Western Bulldogs in Mandurah.
Fyfe sent a scare through the Fremantle camp late in the third quarter when he left the ground clutching his reconstructed left shoulder, but he returned in the final term to top off a brilliant 30-possession performance.
The star 21-year-old was a clear best-on-ground in the 0.23.8 (146) to 0.5.7 (37) win, leading a dominant Fremantle midfield with eight clearances and 17 contested possessions.
It was an impressive return to form for the Brownlow Medal fancy after a lacklustre performance against Carlton at Etihad Stadium seven days earlier.
