Second-year Fremantle midfielder Tom Sheridan will play his second game of AFL in Saturday night’s clash with Geelong at Simonds Stadium.

He replaced Michael Barlow, whos was not risked after hurting his jaw in last Sunday's match against North Melbourne.

Classy on-baller David Mundy, who was a late withdrawal from that match, was also not considered for the trip to Geelong because of a calf injury.

Sheridan, 19, was named in the 22 to face the Cats after a string of solid efforts at WAFL level for Peel Thunder.

Freo’s first selection from the 2011 draft made his debut in round 23 last season against Melbourne, where he came on as a sub.

General manager of football Chris Bond said Sheridan had ...

FREMANTLE has entrenched itself in the top four with a 38-point victory over North Melbourne on a wet Sunday at Patersons Stadium.
The Dockers extended their unbeaten run to eight matches, winning 10.7 (67) to 4.5 (29), in front of 31,637 fans who braved the weather.
The wet conditions played into the Dockers' hands. Neither side managed a goal until Michael Barlow soccered a goal from the goalsquare in the dying seconds of the opening term to give Fremantle a seven-point lead at the first change.
It was the class of Nathan Fyfe that separated the two sides in the second. After Aaron Mullet produced a fabulous running goal to start the term, Fyfe's brilliance shone brightly...

Exciting forward Michael Walters has been named in Fremantle’s 25-man squad for Sunday’s clash with North Melbourne at Patersons Stadium.

Youngsters Tom Sheridan and Matt Taberner were also included in the preliminary team.

The final 22 and emergencies will be finalised at 2.30pm on Friday afternoon and can be seen on fremantlefc.com.au.

Freo general manager of football Chris Bond said Walters would be a welcomed inclusion, but he still had to tick a few boxes at the club’s final training session on Friday morning.

“He should be fine and ready to go,” Bond said.

“He’ll obviously just want to get through our main training session tomorrow, but we’re expecting him to get...

AFTER coach Michael Voss this week suggested his side needed to rely more on intent than talent, it was a switched-on Brisbane Lions unit that hit the ground at Patersons Stadium to take on Fremantle on Saturday.

Some push and shove before the opening bounce suggested the visitors were there to play, but Alex Silvagni’s torn jumper was the only lasting damage as Fremantle led all day to run out 40 point winners, 12.14.86 to 6.10.46.
The low scoring nature of the contest kept the Lions seemingly within range throughout the first three quarters and they trailed by four straight kicks at the last change, but there was never a point where the result was in doubt.

David Mundy was a stand-out for Fremantle, ...

Fremantle has made just one change for Saturday’s match against Brisbane at Patersons Stadium, with Alex Silvagni named to return.

Young midfielder Cam Sutcliffe was the player to make way for the forward.

Matt Taberner, Tom Sheridan and Sutcliffe were named as emergencies.

Silvagni was a late withdrawal from Fremantle’s team that won in Adelaide before the bye.

Fremantle general manager of football Chris Bond said Silvagni added height to the team ahead of the round 12 clash.

“He went out of the team with an ankle injury, but we’re really pleased for him to get back into the team,” he said.

“He’s had a good couple of weeks of training so he’s ready to go.”
