Well here it is, well almost. The weekend of the Big Gig. Grand Final time. It would seem that the two best sides have made it through. Both clubs are deserving of the honour.
In a season of great football and some great contests, it seems appropriate that these two sides make it. Both have had outstanding seasons.
I have to admit that the Tigers have surprised me getting as far as they have.I was waiting for them to fall over at some stage, but they have found a new resilience. Just think half way through last season Damian Hardwick was as close to the scrap heap of coaches as you can ever get. He has done an amazing job with this side this season. I for one didn't think he could coach, but from all accounts he made changes to the ...

Just how great is it having grand kids!!!
Gotta say they bring something a little bit extra to the lives of us oldies. We have three, two girls and one boy, who unfortunately we don't get to see a great deal of because he is over the other side. But still a great joy to us.
I was doing some window cleaning today and I realised that we find funny ways of finding out just how quickly our GKs grow. Our first GK, a girl, is at the stage where sh is becoming or has become a chatter box.Just over two years old but is a quick learner.
But back to window cleaning anyway. While doing the windows, I happened to do some cleaning of the glass doors in our house. You know sliding out door door, inside doors with glass panels. You know how ...

Seems that spring has finally sprung here in the West Warm today, warmer tomorrow. Where as on the East Coast, Victoria especially are having a late flurry of snow. No need to ask where I would rather be. Give me a pair of CJs any day over a pair of skis.
Finals are in full swing, two gone. One a real surprise, the other was a forgone conclusion. Who can believe it, second week of finals and Richmond are still in there. So much so, they are having a weekend off. First win in a final for 16 years. I am still shaking my head. Yep that is the rattle you can hear.
This weekend, a couple of sides that maybe can not come back from their disappointment of last weeks losses.
Friday night the Neeshies are at home to the Toasters. Gee they must ...

Well the dust has settled, well almost, from the first week of finals. One close game out of the four. The others were unpredictable blow out outs.
I can't comment on the Crows V Neeshies, as I didn't see the game. But from all accounts the Neeshies were very ordinary. Crows still looking the goods though. A little bit more on the Neeshies later.
A game I thought would be a great game was the Tigers V Cats. What a blow out. Richmond were very very good and applied pressure all night. Martin staged a show of his own almost all night. He is an out and out champion. Geelong were insipid. I am not sure they can recover from that hiding. Not sure it was a fair venue to stage a home game for Geelong. But maybe Karma is a bitch. ...

The smell of moth balls has almost gone.Just a week by week basis that we will get that smell again.Well done to the eight sides that made it.Commiserations to those that didn't. A short spring holiday ,then back into the grind of a new pre season.
The weekend of boredom was just that.A group of fat old fogies running around like they were kids again all in the name of charity.A great cause, but a review needs to be done for that as well.Only watched a small amount of the game, and was underwhelmed by it all.
Then Saturday night, well, I am not a fan of the AFLW. So I better not get into that. A massive crowd was anticipated, or so the experts said, it looked a very disappointing crowd.
But enough of a lost weekend , the real season ...
