Fair dinkum, the AFL has become more and more like Lotto every week.
A draw, game, every day.Last weeks fixture and ladder was just finished by the AFL boffins and the abacus is till warm, and Voila, the next round begins.
The AFL world, like my head is spinning with all the goings on.
Might be hard from here in to do a summary every week.
But here we go.
Doggies V Richmond.
At seasons start, this would have been a forgone conclusion to pick the Tigers...But... things have changed.
the Doggies are running pretty well at the moment.Running closer to Greyhound than Bulldog. Not a surprise but ...
The Tigers, like the Eagles seem to be having more problems with the hub than most.Certainly not the side that raised the Holy Grail last season.Well not right now any way.And not being able to get back to their beloved home, who knows just what will happen to them from here on.
Should be a good game, but tipping the Doggies.
Melbourne V Port.
It seems that the Dees are finding out that they can indeed be a force.A leader in Christian Petracca has emerged and some are saying he is the best player doin the rounds right now.
Port went down last week the Saints is a shock loss. Still they look good and always hard to beat at home. Can Big Charlie destroy the Dees defence.
Going to select Port to win this one.
Carlton V Hawks.
Well the Blues have certainly looked good and maybe should be in a better place on the ladder right now, after losing a couple that they should have won.Playing good team footy right now.Jack MArtin having a big influence o their style.
The Hawks are the real shock of the season... so far.A team that once was the supreme skills side of the competition. But now , way down in the ranking. Is that Father time I see emerging from the cloud!!!!
Hard to go past Carlton here.
Essendon V Lions.
This could very well be the game of the round. The Bombers struggled to beat lowly Adelaide last week, but have a foot firmly in the top eight.
The Lions are going pretty well and sitting second on the ladder. They somewhat luckily snuck over the line last week against Melbourne. But a win is a win.
Though travelling, down to Metricon, will be a bit like the Melbourne clubs and the MCG,they should win this one,
Roos V Crows.
Cellar dwellers in this one.Kanga have been totally disappointing.
Roos for me.
Saints V Sydney.
The Saints have been a bit of a surprise package so far this strange season.Recruited well over summer and it is showing. They have won their last two on visits to the Adelaide oval in the last two weeks.
Sydney defeated the Hawks last week , but generally have been disappointing with a youth programme in place.
Saint for me.
Eagles V Cats.
Could either be feathers or fur all over the Perth Stadium in this one.Providing the weather is kind.
The Eagles super good last week over the Pies.Back home and secure, they look good.Totally out played the Pies after 1/4 time.
The Cats may be another thing though. They won in a fashion that was not overly good in teaming rain against the Dockers on Monday night.
Maybe the slog on Monday night will slow the Cats down, so am selecting the Eagles.
Suns V Giants.
The two franchise clubs that have divided the AFL followers.
The Suns are playing some very good football. Having a 50/50 record.
Giants are a team of champions, but can they become a champion team.So long offering to give so much, but have been a bit of a worry so far.One week on, one week off.Toby Greene has been their shining light.
Giants for me.
Dockers V Pies.
A water logged Dockers failed miserably on Monday night against a bigger stronger Cats out fit.But a shining light was turned on, with Caleb Serong playing his 5th game, out played Patrick Dangerfield. No mean feat.
The Pies were very disappointing last time out and may need to improve a bit.
As much as I would like to select the Dockers, I feel that the Pies will be too good.
Well that is it for another round.Good tipping to all.
I usually say have a good weekend, but gee it is only half way through. So just enjoy, whatever is before you.
May your team win, as long as it isn't the other mob.
Who know whether I will return next week. If my head stops spinning, then maybe so.
